In 1905 Willard Carver incorporates, and urges D.D. to consider “suggestion” – a “holistic” philosophy of healthcare, which assumes that an individual’s mental state is intimately linked to both the pathogenesis of disease and ultimately to its treatment.

He reasons that it is impossible for the chiropractor to practice without using suggestion.  Suggestion is a correction or adjustment of the very cause in all the parts of the organism that is not mechanical, he points out, while chiropractic is the same thing limited to the mechanical.  He supposes that suggestion goes back further than the mechanical, to the very foundation of life and has to do with an intelligence which existed before there was a bony structure to luxate.

In September, Willard Carver has an accident that “threatened him severely.” He went to Ottumwa, Iowa to Parker School of Chiropractic, and enrolls as student.

In 1905 the Wright Brothers introduce their Wright Flyer III. On October 5, 1905, Wilbur flew 24 miles (39 km) in 39 minutes 23 seconds.
